What: Day of Remembrance - Remembering the Holocaust through Art
When: 6:30-8 p.m.
Where: Campus Center Arbor Room

The tragedy of the Holocaust still echoes through every decade, with its haunting images and stories of both the strength and mortality of millions persecuted. Each year, MCC-Maple Woods honors holocaust victims and survivors with Day of Remembrance, a concert featuring the works of interred composers.

This year's 12th Annual Day of Remembrance Remembering the Holocaust Through Music will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 21 in the Campus Center Arbor Room. The performance is free and open to the public, and is appropriate for ages 13 and older.

MCC-Maple Woods music instructor and event coordinator Jim Murray, who also conducts the Northland Symphony Orchestra, will once again be conducting the concert. This year, he has partnered with art instructor Elaina Michalski, whose students will be creating a sculpture presentation inspired by Holocaust survivor poems, which will be recited by Maple Woods students.

To accompany the evening of chamber music, the William Jewell College Chapel Choir will perform.
