Herbs: for aroma, beauty and culinary zest
Explore the world of herbs. How to grow herbs whether you have a few inches or an entire garden available. Which ones add beauty to your landscape or send delicious fragrances you way with the lightest breeze or touch? Easy ways to liven up dishes with herbs and geat ideas for having herbs available after the growing season. Instructor is Mary Nenecek, Master Gardner. Mary holds an MBA from Rockhurst and in her free time enjoys working in the garden, photography, reading and cooking.

Bulbs, Corms, and Tubers
Bulbs can last a long time if not forever.  They are greatly anticipated after a long bare winter.  Some are spectacular and others are dainty.  Some stay green all winter.  All are carefree.  Now is the time to plan for the bulbs you will be planting this fall.  Planting guides, sources, and introduction of unusual bulbs including lilies will be discussed.  Instructor is Mary Wood, Master Gardner.

Do you ever feel like something is not right in your world or how you fit into it? Are you unhappy with where your life is going or wish that you could make a change? Are you considering a new career, relationship, or a completely new focus in your life? Changing your life can be scary, exciting, thought-provoking, and transformative. It includes examining your current situation, identifying what is working and what isn't, and making goals for change and growth. With local author and life coach, Christine Shuck, explore how you can change your life into one you may have only dreamed of. Christine will read excerpts of her upcoming book, "Change Your Life" and challenge participants to "EDIP" (Examine, Define, Identify, and Proceed). In addition, a free, 45-minute trial coaching session is offered to all who attend.

Feeling overwhelmed by clutter? Can't find your kitchen table beneath all that paperwork and mail? It's time to get organized and stay that way! Christine Shuck, professional organizer, speaker and author will guide you through the process of organizing your home. Learn about the roots of clutter, get tips and techniques on eradicating clutter, and retain tools for preventing clutter from reoccuring in your life. Become more organized and add an extra hour to your day! $15 materials fee is payable to instructor at time of class.

Fly Fishing for Fun

Fly fishing is a great way to relax, have fun, and enjoy the great outdoors with family and friends. Learn what rods, reels, and line to use and how to assemble them, what to purchase, and what flies or streamers to use. Then go outside for actual fly casting experience! Equipment rental fee of $15 payable to the instructor at class.

Islamic Culture vs Western Culture
This class could be titled "almost everything you want to know about Islamic people but were afraid to ask!" The instructor is International Police Trainer Gary Hacker. He lived and worked in the Middle East from 2004-2008, in Baghdad, Amman and Muwaqqer, Jordan, Kuwait and Jersalem. He has spent those years developing relationships with Iraqi Muslims, Jordanian Muslims, Jordanian Christians, Palestinians and Israeli Jews. Instructor Hacker's presentation is humorous and entertaining. We will discuss the "Five Pillars of Islam," some commmon myths about Islamic people and some primary differences and commonalities of Middle Eastern Muslims vs Americans.
