Get Certified

Certification Requirements

  • Concentrations available in Safety & Health, Environmental and Risk Management
  • All three certification levels accept courses taken at other OSHA Training Institute Education Centers
  • Course completions earned at each level can be applied to more advanced level certificate programs

Industry Certifications

ssh
SSH: Specialist in Safety & Health

Construction Industry, General Industry and/or Healthcare Industry Certificates is available. Follow link to print SSH Application for Construction Industry, General Industry, or Healthcare.

  • Requires one core OSHA course and three elective courses.
  • Choose from General Industry and/or Construction Industry Career Certification Tracks.
  • Transfer up to ONE required courses from any OSHA Training Institute Education Center.
  • Courses can be applied toward advanced level certifications (CSHO and SHEP).
  • Courses are listed on the Application Form


CHSO
CSHO: Certified Safety & Health Official

Construction and/or General Industry Certificates are available. Follow link to print CSHO Application for Construction and/or General Industry.

  • Requires six core OSHA courses and two elective courses
  • Choose from General Industry or Construction Industry Career Certification Tracks.
  • Transfer up to two required courses from any OSHA Training Institute Education Center.
  • Courses can be applied toward advanced level certifications (SHEP).


SHEP: Safety, Health & Environmental Professional

Construction and/or General Industry Certifcates are available. Follow link to print SHEP Application.

  • Requires eight total courses including:
  • 5 OSHA courses, 2 Environmental courses, and 1 Risk Management course
  • Course credits from SSH and CSHO apply toward SHEP course credit.
  • Transfer up to two (2) required courses from any OSHA Training Institute Education Center.

 

OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Centers Program

Public Sector Safety & Health fundamentals for General Industry. Construction and/or General Industry Certificates are available. Follow link to print Public Sector application for Construction and/or General Industry.

  • Requires three required courses and four electives.
  • Course credits from SSH and CSHO apply toward SHEP course credit.
  • Transfer up to two (2) required courses from any OSHA Training Institute Education Center.
