The Lineman certificate program or associate in applied science is intended to prepare individuals for employment at any electric utility offering an apprenticeship in the United States. Applicants with formal training typically have higher starting salaries and greater opportunity for advancement within the industry. Linemen install and repair poles, conductors, cables and equipment used in electrical power and distribution systems.
