Fire Science Technology

FSTE 209 - Building Construction for Fire Protection (3 credits)

Prerequisite: Enrollment in the MCC Fire Academy or successful completion of prior FSTE course with a grade of C or higher or instructor approval. This course provides the components of building construction that relate to fire and life safety. The elements of construction and design of structure are shown to be key factors when inspecting buildings, preplanning fire operations and operating at emergencies.
