Missouri Reverse Transfer (MRT)

Missouri Reverse Transfer (MRT) is the process of allowing students who have completed credits towards an associate's degree at a Missouri two-year college to receive that degree while enrolled at four-year school.

To prepare for MRT statewide in fall 2014, MCC is piloting the program in 2013 with both Northwest Missouri State University and Missouri Western. If you are attending either of these four-year institutions as a new transfer student from MCC, you are eligible to participate. In fall 2014, all Missouri two and four-year schools will participate.

What are the benefits?

  • Earn your associate's degree at no cost while pursuing your bachelor's
  • degree
  • Possible career advancement with earned associate's degrees
  • Qualify for more jobs
  • Possibly earn more money
  • Possibly meet general education requirements at your four-year transfer institution

Are you eligible?

You must have earned a minimum of 15 credit hours at MCC to be eligible for a reverse transfer degree. Students are not eligible for the program if they currently possess an associate's degree or higher.

How do you sign up?

To take part in MRT, you must sign an opt-in form at your four-year school. Then your transcript will be sent to MCC. Each term, MCC will monitor your progress towards an AA degree and once you complete the requirements, the degree will be awarded.
