Take your GED exam at MCC-BT on a computer!

The GED test on computer contains the same test content currently offered on paper. Benefits to taking the computer-based GED:

  • One-stop online registration and scheduling available 24/7
  • Flexible testing appointments
  • Instant availability of test scores (with the exception of the essay)
  • Can take as little as one section at a time

Computer-based GED testing begins at the MCC-BT campus May 21st, 2012 with registration and scheduling available to candidates is still to be determined. Candidates interested in taking the test on computer at MCC-Business & Technology should go to www.gedtestingservice.com.

Cost is $28 per test section, no additional state or Testing Center fees required.

Note to Re-testers: No eligibility letter is required; go directly to www.gedtestingservices.com to register to retest.

 Paper/Pencil GED Testing

Upcoming testing dates: MCC GED Calendar  2012

Note: Each campus will be different.
All of the MCC campuses are official Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MDESE) GED test sites.

Steps to take the GED test at MCC:

  1. Submit an application to MDESE for eligibility to test. This application can be picked up at any MCC campus Testing Center, or you can go to www.ged.mo.gov to download the application.
  2. When you receive the eligibility letter, go to an Adult Education and Literacy Center (listed above) to complete the GED demographic packet, view a video and take a GED practice test.
  3. To register to take the GED test, you will need to bring the following:
    • Eligibility Letter
    • $20 fee (cash or money order only)
    • Completed demographic from Adult Education and Literacy Center
    • Valid Missouri driver's license or Missouri non-driver's license photo ID

 Call a Campus GED Hotline number for the latest registration information and test date available for that particular campus. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Getting Your Test Results for the Paper/Pencil Test

You will receive your test results by mail in 2-3 weeks. Testing Centers do not receive the scores. If you have not received your scores within that time, you will need to contact the State Department of Education in Jefferson City. Their address and phone is:

If you are not in the Missouri OPTIONS program, you may be able to view your GED scores online 7 – 10 business days after testing by going to www.ged.mo.gov and click on the “An Official Transcript” link. You will need to enter the last 4 digits of your social security number, date of birth, and last name.

If you are in the Missouri OPTIONS program, your scores will go directly to your OPTIONS teacher/coordinator who will release those scores to you.
