MCC-Kansas City Learning Communities

Make Learning an Adventure

What do biology and history have in common? Or music and art? A lot - if they’re a part of a Learning Community. Learning Communities take apparently unrelated courses and link them together with a theme and a team of instructors.

Two (or more) Courses in One
As a result, you can study two or more courses together. Each instructor will know what the others are teaching and will tie into the theme with relevant reading and writing assignments. It focuses your education, builds involvement and motivation and gives added meaning to your college experience. Working together as a group also mimics real life, building interaction and teamwork skills.

A Community of Friends
What’s more, you’ll be able to study and interact with a small group—a community—of students.
