The Longview Campus is pictured below. The Longview Watershed Study is focusing on the watershed (see photos) draining the north part of the campus. Stephen L. Reinbold directs this study involving over 150 biology students. A summary with six years of data for three main factors is available. Also, an amphipod laboratory experiment has been done to try to verify field results.
The north Longview watershed begins as a tile line draining a golf course upstream. The tile outlet emerges from under a parking lot on the Longview Campus, giving rise to an intermittent stream called Little Mouse Creek (indicated by dark blue line below) that flows across the campus, and then continues on Army Corps of Engineers property to Longview Lake.
