Web Changes:
Ok, I know it has been a while, but I finally got a one semester sabbatical
to update the site and revise some of the resources! Among those
promised below, I will also be working on changing the format of the Core
concepts file so that each section can be printed out on its own without
having to download and print the whole set of resources. There are also
some broken links in the discipline-specific resources which I need to
fix. The basic content of the site will not change much, nor will
the look - it will just work better and be more useful. Thanks for
your patience and your suggestions over the past few years.
Update: 3/2/04: Changes in the server address which hosts the
CTAC web site and in my E-mail address have been updated.
Recently Completed:
-
New on-line forums! We have established a forums page so that visitors
can ask questions or share techniques/tactics for integrating Critical
Thinking into their classes. As the need for new topics arises, forums
will be added. You can access the new forums page by using
the
button found on the navigation toolbar at the top and bottom of every page
on the site.
-
Revision of the Corenotes.htm file: I retained the original file
with a few corrections so existing links will still work, but if you go
to the Core Resources using the Contents page, you will find that I divided
the discussions into smaller sections so that they could be printed out
and used as handouts in a classroom without having to print the entire
file.
-
Update of the "Who's Who" page: The last update was in 1997,
and a lot of people have established links to our site's resources since
that revision. The list has grown to over 250 verified sites.
I did not include individuals who notified me by e-mail that they use the
resources because I felt in inappropriate to identify them without permission.
(There are a bunch of them, however!) If you use our resources and want
to let the rest of the world know, feel free to post to the "Who's Who"
forum.

Fixing the broken links in the Discipline Specific areas:
Most of the links were working up until 2000, but the broken links have
been fixed where possible. Where I could not fix them, I either left the
reference name or deleted the link altogether. I also added some links
to external resources where I could find them in both core topics and the
Discipline Specific areas. As I identify and review more sites I will add
links to them as well.
-
Reviews of current Critical Thinking textbooks or links to existing
reviews. I have provided a link to the Mission Critical web
site and their bibliography of Critical Thinking Textbooks. Some
of these books have already been reviewed by other instructors, and more
reviews will surely follow.
Coming soon:
-
Powerpoint presentations on various core topics.

(our local newspaper) had to say about the site!
