Writing Fellows Program
The Writing Fellows Program at Longview Community College is a multifaceted Writing-Across-the Curriculum (WAC) program designed to support faculty who are experimenting with applying WAC strategies to their courses and assignments. The program also supports students in those courses as they complete their writing projects.
Writing Fellows represents a win-win situation for all involved.
Faculty have an opportunity to reexamine their pedagogy and to collaborate and share with colleagues from other disciplines as well as elicit better performances from their students.
Students have the chance to improve their learning and their writing by sharing their writing with a fellow student. Instructors have evidence that students who work with a Writing Fellow perform better in their written coursework and on exams than those who do not.

Writing Fellows programs are on the rise, especially at four-year colleges and universities. Longview's program is in its 16th year of operation.
