The secret to no-cost introductory computer training in the Northland is MCC-Maple Woods Community Education Department. MCC-Maple Woods provides nearby convenience, small classes and quality instruction. Whether you are new to the wonderful world of computers, or just need to brush up on your skills, the Community Education Department can help!

Open Lab
Special time set aside for practice and/or projects. Lab times vary. Please call (816) 437-3011 to verify.


Basic Skills
This class utilizes hands-on training and the mouse to perform basic functions. You will also learn to select text and make minor changes to it.


Windows
This course provides lessons on using the Windows operating system. You will learn to launch programs, use windows explorer, format disks, copy files, create folders, rename files, and delete files and folders.


Microsoft Word
Learn the basics of Word including how to create, save, edit and open documents. You need to be proficient in using the mouse before taking this class.


Microsoft Excel
Learn to create simple spreadsheets using basic formulas and formatting.


Microsoft Access
Learn to create a simple database, tables, forms, reports and queries.


Internet
Learn to navigate the web and perform searches by utilizing different search engines and search techniques.


E-mail
Learn to send and receive e-mail through the Internet. A working knowledge of the Internet is required.


InfoSource
Self-paced Tutorial Software, InfoSource, is also available for the software programs most widely distributed with new personal computers.
