Amusement Park Adventure
Everyone loves a scary amusement park ride! Now you can build four different rides and program them to move! This beginner robotics program enables students to learn to build and program amusement park robotics. You will use LEGO bricks, computer hardware and simple but powerful computer software to design, construct and program amusement park rides. Use bricks, sensors, motors and leads to build one of four models – a ghost train, a bumper car, a merry-go-round or a tour bus.

Animating with Indiana Jones
Everyone loves the adventures of Indiana Jones! In this class, you will be creating every element needed to make your own animation movie. You will have the job of director, camera operator, producer, set creator and sound operator to create your own Indiana Jones adventure. Where will Indy’s adventure begin? Only your film crew will know the outcome of your animation adventure!

Cartoon Animations
Do you know what a SPRITE is? In cartoon animations, it isn’t a drink but an animation character that you will program in your cartoon. During each class, you will be introduced to different animation commands and program scripts. What will your SPRITE look like and how will it move? Enroll in this class for a Creative Adventure in Animation!

Super Action Hero Comic Books
Do you read comic books or watch movies made from comic books like Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Batman or Superman? Maybe you have some ideas for a new comic book theme and you’re ready to create? You will work through the five steps of the writing process: Prewriting, Writing, Revising, Editing and Publishing. You will learn to use the graphic arts tools in the software to develop your own characters and add backgrounds, clipart and speech bubbles. You will also be able to add your own digital images to enhance your stories.

Video Game Design
Have you ever wondered how a video game knows what to do when you push a certain button or click your mouse on the screen? In this class, you will learn the basics to creating your own video game, including writing rules and basic design concepts. You will take home a copy of the games created during class, as well as a copy of the software used so that you can continue adding features to your game!

Wikis and Blogs

Wacky World of Wikis
Do you know what a wiki is? You will create a wiki space about your favorite restaurant, or a topic approved by the instructor. You will create wiki entries with text, hyperlinks, images and other widgets. You will also create a short audio recording, a podcast, to be uploaded and embedded in your wiki.

Blockbuster Blogs
How many of you know what a blog is? A blog is similar to a personal journal; it contains the thoughts and viewpoints of one person or a small group of people. Some blogs include audio, pictures and video. You will work with a partner to write a blog about a movie as if you are the movie critic for a popular entertainment show. You will write news briefs, reviews and updates on the movies you have chosen.
