Description

The Child Growth and Development Department (CDCG) at MCC-Penn Valley is recognized as a leader in providing comprehensive education for aspiring early childhood and youth professionals. CDCG offers c ollege credit courses on and off campus, via internet, television and field-based methods of instruction. Schedules are designed to meet the needs of the student.

Our state-of-the art child care center was built to complement the existing Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program, providing students with opportunities for internships and observation.

To Apply

To be admitted to the program, students must complete the following application process:

 

  1. Complete a "Request for Child Abuse or Neglect/Criminal Record." (Every student must complete this process, which involves completing a form and being fingerprinted.) Information received by MCC-Penn Valley pertinent to this process will be used solely for MCC-PennValley's internal purposes in determining the suitability of the applicant for admission to the program.
  2. Complete the MCC-Penn Valley admissions process.
  3. Complete a background check by going to: http://www.health.gov.mo/safety/fcsr

Every student in the CDCG program should be aware that the Missouri State Board of Education may refuse to issue or renew, or may suspend or revoke a certificate of license to teach if an individual has pleaded or been found guilty of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude whether or not sentence is imposed; upon evidence that the certificate was obtained by fraud, deception, misrepresentation or bribery; upon evidence of incompetence, immorality or neglect of duty; or if the certificate holder is subject to discipline in another state.
