Description

Medical transcriptionists type transcripts for health records. They work wherever there are records, which includes a variety of settings. These are exciting and interesting places to work and offer real challenges for the career medical transcriptionist. These reports are for patient history files, so accuracy and swift completion are essential. Familiarity with medical terminology, grammar, and accurate spelling is vital.

In our program, you will learn to transcribe medico-legal documents using digitized dictation from physicians and other healthcare professionals on a web-based system. Documents include medical reports, emergency room visits, diagnostic imaging studies, operations, chart reviews, summaries, etc. You'll learn how to transcribe and translate medical terminology and abbreviations into precise documents. You'll edit and return reports in either printed or electronic form.

This program prepares you to seek employment in a variety of medical settings, become a self-employed transcriptionist or work as a home-based medical transcriptionist.
