Disability Notice

Metropolitan Community College complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act which prohibit discrimination in admission or access to its programs based on disability. Each MCC campus has an Disability Support Services (DSS) office that provides special services for students with documented disabilities. Arrangements can be made for aids and adjustments to help ensure equal access to programs and services.

The campus DSS office also has information regarding the existence and location of services, activities, and facilities that are accessible to and usable by persons with disabilities.

If you have a disability, you'll find MCC a friendly place. Through our DSS offices, we work to remove barriers to your college education. We'll help you with:

  • Classroom accommodations
  • Interpreters, readers and scribes
  • Providing resources to faculty or staff
  • Connecting with community professionals and agencies
  • Supplying textbooks in alternative formats
  • Arranging alternative testing
  • Providing assistive technology
  • Services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students

To qualify

Contact a DSS office and provide written documentation of your disability. Returning students can use a renewal form . Apply well before each semester starts so accommodations can be arranged. Accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis. We'll help, but it is your responsibility to deliver documentation and discuss your needs with your instructor.
