Student E-mail Policy
MCC sends important communications to students through Student E-mail, a free, Web-based
e-mail account provided to all students. You should check your Student E-mail account
on a regular basis for important information from the financial aid and advising offices,
communications from your instructor, as well as general information of interest to
all MCC students.

Frequently Asked Questions
Based on student feedback, MCC switched to a new Student E-mail system, powered by
Google at the end of the Fall 2008 semester. The student MCC e-mail address did not
change, but the login credentials are now the same as your myMCCKC (formerly MetroLink)
login information.

- Student E-mail, powered by Gmail provides you a free, Web-based e-mail account which
instuctors use to help distribute class materials and is an important communication
tool between the college and students.
- Student E-mail login information is the same as your myMCCKC login information and
is included in the confidential myMCCKC mailer.

Your Student E-mail password is the same as your myMCCKC password. Changing your myMCCKC
password will automatically change your Student E-mail password.
NO, you will have to set up e-mail forwarding in the new Student E-mail system. To
setup email forwarding, please review the next Q & A below.
Student E-mail, powered by Gmail lets you automatically forward incoming mail to another
address. Here's how to forward messages automatically:
- Sign in to Student E-mail.
- Click the gear-box icon at the top right-hand corner of any Student E-mail page.
- Open the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Enter the e-mail address to which you'd like your messages forwarded.
- Select the action you'd like your messages to take from the drop-down menu. You can
choose to keep Student E-mail's copy of the message in your inbox, or you can send
it automatically to All Mail or Trash.
- Click Save Changes.
ADDITIONAL KEY FEATURES:
Due to individual phone carrier requirements, please make sure that you have added
your BlackBerry data plan up to 48-hours in advance.
From your computer:
- point your browser to http://www.google.com/mobile/blackberry/app.html
- Enter your mobile phones telephone number.
- Follow the link that is in the text message that Google sends you.
- Download the application
- The application will be in the download(s)/application folder.
- After the application is installed your device may restart.
- Launch the Gmail application
- Enter your student e-mail address
- Sxxxxxxx@student.mcckc.edu
- Enter your password
- Your password is the same as the password for your myMCCKC
