The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is to build an environment of trust and respect of diverse opinions and perspectives by promoting equity in student success, recruiting and retaining employees from diverse backgrounds, and fostering an equitable and diverse institutional infrastructure.
DEI's Objectives consistent with MCC's Strategic Plan:
- Create and foster an environment that is respectful of diverse opinions and perspectives.
- Increase equity in student success throughout the student lifecycle using targeted approaches to bridge achievement gaps for underrepresented student populations.
- Recruit and maintain employees to better reflect the diversity and emerging trends of the Kansas City Metropolitan area.
- Continue to develop an institutional infrastructure to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity for students, employees and community.
