I am so honored to have been chosen as the new campus president of MCC-Maple Woods, “where the road to success begins”.
My longstanding personal philosophy of putting students first and providing services and programs without excuses is directly related to accomplishing the extraordinary mission of the modern, comprehensive community college. Today, community colleges are called on to play many roles and, as such, serve the broadest spectrum of students imaginable, with programs and awards ranging from adult basic education to honors courses and professional licensure.
In order for students to be successful, the academic and workforce programs need to align with the economic needs of the community and region. My dedication to student success and excellence is shown through my commitment to instructional technology and alternative educational methods. I believe that when used appropriately, such technologies positively contribute to student learning and enhance the context and delivery of instruction and overall effectiveness of college operations. I realize that this sounds like I’m reapplying for the job, but I share this because I want you to understand what motivates me and what I am most passionate about.
I consider it a great honor and privilege to be able to serve you, (the most dedicated and committed faculty and staff around) our students, and the Kansas City community. Our faculty, staff, and administrators are committed to our students and the community in which we serve.
