ARAB 101E - Elementary Modern Arabic I - 5.00 credits
A practical beginning course in speaking and understanding modern Arabic. Proper pronunciation, words and structures used in daily conversation. Social conventions and Arabic culture necessary for interpersonal communication with native speakers of contemporary Arabic. (MOTR LANG 105)

SPAN 209 - Introduction to Hispanic Literature - 3.00 credits
Prerequisites: SPAN 203 with a C or better. An introduction to literature in written Spanish from various genres and historical periods. Selected texts will introduce students to major writers as well as provide insights into the cultural, political and social contexts of Latin America and Spain.
SPAN 212 - Study Abroad I - 3.00 credits
Prerequisite: SPAN 101. Students will broaden their language skills while at the same time experiencing a new culture through a short-term total immersion program in a Spanish-speaking country. Special emphasis will be placed on spoken communication while expanding listening, reading and writing skills. Students will be tested and placed into the appropriate level of instruction. All classes are conducted in Spanish by native Spanish speakers.
