MCC Library Mission
The Libraries support the MCC mission by providing services and resources that strengthen and enhance instructional services.
- Provide library instruction for finding and evaluating information resources in class or in a one-to-one environment
- Recruit, hire and retain a knowledgeable staff of effective, caring, service-oriented professionals
- Acquire and organize collections of material and information in print, non-print and digital formats to support the MCC curriculum and life-long learning

Library services are available online and through the Learning Resource Center. The Library, located in CC 176, is a shared space that includes the following services:
Computer Use Policy: MCC-BTC offers a 14-computer lab with access to Blackboard, an online catalog and an extensive number of online databases to assist students with their research needs. Computer users are required to follow the MCC college use guidelines and the Morenet acceptable use policy. Computers are for research and course assignment use.
MCC-BTC Library offers a small conference room for quiet study and for group study.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a system that allows library patrons to obtain books from other libraries. Students and employees of the Metropolitan Community Colleges may use this service. MCC is a member of MOBIUS and other library consortia, and participates in OCLC, an international bibliographic database and lending service. Persons not affiliated with MCC should contact their local public library or academic library to inquire about ILL services. Books can be requested online and delivery can vary by distance and item availability, so plan ahead to ensure the needed materials arrive in time. You will receive a telephone call or letter when the item arrives in the Library. All materials must be picked up at the Library that ordered the item for you. ALL ILL ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE MCC LIBRARY THAT OBTAINED THEM FOR YOU, NOT TO THE OWNING LIBRARY.
Copy machines are provided for the purpose of copying items that are Library Use Only as well as other material. Cost is $.10 page.
As institutions of higher education, the Metropolitan Community Colleges attempt to provide environments, which promote learning for the students that are served. The library environment normally is not an appropriate place for children. Library staff may request that children be removed from the library, if necessary. Leaving your child unsupervised in the library while you are in class could place your child at risk. Therefore, students are prohibited from leaving a child unattended. Unattended children will be reported to the campus police and the parent/guardian responsible could face disciplinary action.
Cellular Phones and Pagers
Classrooms, labs, and areas designated for studying should be free of distractions. Therefore, the use of cellular telephones, pagers or audible signaling devices in such areas is not allowed.
Library and Learning Resource and Testing Center users are expected to conduct themselves so that others will not be distracted from the pursuit of learning. Please help us keep the Library a congenial place to study, research or test.
Food and Drink Policy
Food or drink items are allowed only at the study tables. No food or drink is allowed in the computer lab.
