Dining at MCC

MCC’s food service program includes cafeterias at all four of our main campuses, as well as vending machines throughout most of the campus facilities.

The cafeterias are open 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday in the fall and spring semesters. Campus cafés are not usually open during the summer session.

  • Health Science Institute, 3444 Broadway

  • Administrative Center, 3200 Broadway (employees only)

The cafés at MCC-Blue River, MCC-Maple Woods and MCC-Longview are hybrid eMarts:

  • Food services staff members are available to cook a reduced list of choices.
  • The eMart concept is in place to provide multiple grab-and-go entrees.

Free breakfast program

Starting Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, Metropolitan Community College introduces a free breakfast program for all MCC students at the cafés at MCC’s Blue River, Longview, Maple Woods and Penn Valley campuses:

  • This breakfast offer will be available 7-10 a.m. Monday-Thursday. Once you’ve created an account for the MCC cafés (which are managed by our food-service partner Elite Cuisine), you’ll receive a $6 credit each day (Monday – Thursday) to be used on breakfast items each day — things like breakfast burritos, fruit and yogurt parfaits, pastries and coffee.
  • That $6 is a daily discount on breakfast, not money that rolls over in your account. In other words, you use it or lose it each day. If you select breakfast items that cost more than $6, you’re responsible for paying the balance.

Why is MCC doing this?

We know that for some students, food insecurity is one more thing to worry about. We want everyone to start the school day with breakfast in their belly, ready to learn. Free breakfast is a temporary “pilot” program at MCC that we hope to offer through the end of the Fall 2022 semester. As the semester continues, we’ll ask for your feedback: Did you take advantage of free breakfast? Did it make a difference?

Setting up your account

As mentioned, you’ll need an online account to get the $6 breakfast discount. You can create your account at kiosks at the MCC cafés, but you can save time by doing it online in advance. (As of Feb. 14, the only students who can’t set up an account in advance are Penn Valley students — there’s a technical problem that is being worked out.)

Blue River, Longview and Maple Woods students can create their café account at mymarketaccount.net or by downloading the 365Pay app. They’re the same thing. Use your MCC student email address; you’ll select a password during the “Create account” process.

You can create an account on the app and manage it on the website or vice versa. When you’re checking out at a café kiosk, select PAY BY ACCOUNT. On the home screen of the 365Pay app, you’ll see a QR code — just scan that at the kiosk to pay (and get the breakfast discount) instantly. You can also add funds to your account with a debit or credit card.
